"Daytons primal scream two piece slugs and batters its way through blues punk in a way that would make Arthur Janov sit up and revise his methods. This is just the thing to stop creeping socialism dead in its tracks." Chris Sheehan of The All Golden
"I craved short, to-the-point, original rock, and that’s exactly what I got with In Boxes. They kept the blues vibe, but did it with integrity by combining a strong indie beat and arty vocals penned in a narrative form. Their music was intriguing and won the crowd that stuck around over with its honest, stripped-down, James Dean-rolling-a-pack-of-cigarettes-in-his-sleeve music. In Boxes were the working-class heroes of the night, performing songs called “The Paycheck to Paycheck to Paycheck Blues,” which hit with a pounding 4/4 beat, choppy guitars and fired-up vocals with a “go to hell” attitude. Although just a two-piece, the sound was big and soulful. " music writer Kris Neises of Dayton City Paper
